About Me
Welcome all, to my little corner of the Internet. I'm Cat, and as you may have gathered by now, I am completely and utterly bewitched by all things autumn. I often refer to this time of year as 'the season of my soul' because it is the period during which I feel most alive, most connected to myself and the earth beneath my feet (well, beneath my platform boots). From the inner warmth that only the autumnal nip can provide to the magic that seems to fall upon rooftops with the leaves, I can't get enough of this splendid season, this little slice of scarlet serenity.
Why Aki No Koe?
When I first began virtually spreading my love for autumn back in 2015, it was not by way of website; instead, I sent daily emails to my high school classmates throughout the autumn months. That's right, this little space started out not so much as a passion project, but rather as a way to escape the monotony that too often accompanies formal education. After graduation, it evolved into a slightly bigger email chain, filled with any and everyone I could convince to join.
Today, it's Aki No Koe. Unlike my high school email chain, this website was born as all things involving the soul are: in a fit of fury and passion. In Japan, 'aki no koe' is a seasonal word that refers to the voice of autumn, or all the sounds of the season. This site is a virtual reflection of that phrase, and is inspired by—and dedicated to—all things autumn. Aki No Koe is a piece of my person, a little sliver of my soul. And while this virtual space is no doubt a tribute to autumn, it is my hope that, in it, I can create something that transcends the fleetingness of the seasons, that stands the test of time. So, grab a cup of tea, light a cozy candle, and sit a spell. Stay awhile.
